Jesús A. Hernández-García graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2005 with a BA in Political Science and was part of the inaugural class of the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2008.
After law school, he went on to work with Servicios Legales de Puerto Rico, Inc. (Puerto Rico Legal Services), from 2009 to March 2014, representing indigent clients in civil matters. He joined the Federal Public Defenders Office in April of 2014, where he now represents indigent clients in federal criminal matters.
He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (2009), the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (2009) and the First Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals (2013).
