Jessica graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in International Studies and Spanish in 2010. She graduated from Tulane Law School in 2013. During law school, Jessica interned with the Honorable Marcos E. Lopez of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the Honorable Helen G. Berrigan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. She also co-founded a non-for-profit organization dedicated to indigent immigrant defense. After graduating from law school, she worked for three years in private practice and as part of the Puerto Rico Bar's Pro-Bono project, representing indigent clients in civil matters. In 2016, Jessica began working at the Federal Public Defender's Office. Jessica is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar, the Federal Bar for the District of Puerto Rico, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
