Ivan Santos-Castaldo joined the office as a Research & Writing Attorney in 2018. Prior to working with the Federal Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Santos-Castaldo was in private practice for three years, handling cases in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Santos-Castaldo received his B.A. degree Magna Cum Laude in Geography from the University of Puerto Rico. He obtained his J.D. degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, receiving the award for most distinguished student in criminal law from the University of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Bar Association. During law school, Mr. Santos-Castaldo interned with the Honorable Daniel R. Dominguez, Senior Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. He went on to attain the second highest score for the September 2014 Puerto Rico bar exam.
Mr. Santos-Castaldo is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
