Alejandra Bird López joined the office as an attorney in 2018.

Ms. Bird received her Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her Juris Doctor from the William and Mary School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the Puerto Rico court system, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Prior to working with the Defender’s Office, Ms. Bird worked for a non-profit organization doing civil rights litigation and later as a solo practitioner in a variety of different legal areas. She also handled court appointed criminal cases in the federal district and appellate courts.
