Mr. Javier A. Cuyar Olivo is a trial attorney who has over a decade of experience as a defense counsel litigating suppression hearings and criminal trials at Federal and state courts in Puerto Rico.
During law school, Mr. Cuyar interned with current United States Chief District Judge, Hon. Gustavo A. Gelpí, where he developed a passion to defend those charged with criminal cases. Mr. Cuyar was also an intern at the Interamerican School of Law’s Innocence Project as well as the Legal Aid Society’s clinic. Afterwards, Mr. Cuyar went to attain the second highest score on the District of Puerto Rico’s Federal Bar Exam.
Mr. Cuyar is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Mr. Cuyar is also a member of the Puerto Rico Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PRACDL).
