Francisco E. Celedonio joined the office in January 2015, where he has continued his criminal trial practice. Prior to his arrival in Puerto Rico Francisco was in private practice in New York City since 1987. Francisco's criminal practice in New York City was primarily in the federal courts in New York and New Jersey (in the SDNY, EDNY, NDNY, and DNJ), as well as the New York State Supreme Court and criminal courts. In New York Francisco was a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Defenders of New York; he was a member of the SDNY CJA Peer Review Committee that investigates and recommends appointment to the CJA Panel; and he was a member of the SDNY CJA Panel, and the CJA Panel in the EDNY. Additionally, Francisco was a member of the SDNY Capital Panel.
Francisco has been a faculty trainer in numerous national programs in various areas of federal criminal practice, including Sentencing Advocacy, Persuasive Writing, the United States Sentencing Guidelines, and Trial Skills.
Francisco received a BA from Columbia University in 1982, and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, in 1985; he clerked in federal district court for the Honorable James E. Doyle, W.D. Wis., from 1985-1986. Francisco is a native of the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish.
